What kind of picture works best?
One solid, filled shape: a silhouette with no inner lines, a chunky subject with thick legs, tails and ears, all parts joined into one shape, on a plain light background. A light shape on a dark background is turned round by itself. Small holes (an eye) are filled; big holes (a mug's handle) stay. Parts drawn a little apart (a boat's sails over its hull) are joined.
