What is the book mystery?

A question for the whole book, for example a riddle. Each puzzle has one letter of the answer marked with a star; collected through the book, the letters spell the answer. The book gets a page "The Book Mystery" and the answer is printed on the Solutions page. Choose a classic riddle or write your own question and answer.
