What are "story threads" and why does BookyAI track them?

BookyAI •1 min read •20 views •Updated Aug 27, 2026

A story thread is a promise made to the reader — an unsolved mystery, a looming conflict, an unanswered question. While BookyAI writes fiction, the AI maintains this list automatically: when a chapter opens a new thread it is recorded, and when a chapter clearly resolves one it is marked resolved. Open threads are sent to the AI with every following chapter with the instruction to honor or advance them — so the story never silently forgets a mystery it opened. You can see and edit the list yourself: open the book, click "Codex" above the chapter list, and use the Threads tab (add your own, tick one as resolved, or delete). In a book series, threads left unresolved at the end of

one book are carried into the next.
