The X on the Guide panel does not close it. How do I close the Guide?

In version 1.9.17 the X at the top of the Guide panel does not react to clicks. Close the panel by clicking anywhere outside it, or by pressing the Escape key. This is fixed in version 1.9.18: the X closes the panel, and the panel no longer covers the window's own buttons at the top right.
