The studio is busy when I change a setting.

Settings that change the designs (who colors it, line weight, detail, trim, kinds of design, silhouettes) draw the book again, which can take a little while for a large book. Lock the designs you are happy with to keep them. Settings that only change the pages (fonts, pages, captions, texts) are instant.
