The studio is busy when I change a setting.

Settings that change the puzzles themselves (the puzzle type, the levels, the givens pattern and the puzzle count) make every unlocked puzzle that no longer fits again. A large book with Evil, killer or samurai puzzles can take a little while. Lock the puzzles you are happy with to keep them. Settings that only change the pages (fonts, stars, hints, lessons, trim) are instant.
