The contents page of my Word export shows "C H A P T E R 1" in front of every chapter. How do I fix it?

From version 1.9.24, the Word (DOCX) contents page lists each chapter by its number and title, for example "1. The Storm", without the spaced "C H A P T E R" in front, and a dedication placed before the contents is no longer listed in it. A chapter that has no title of its own is listed as "Chapter 1". Export the DOCX again. Microsoft Word fills in the page numbers when it offers to update the fields as the file opens: click Yes (or select all and press F9). For a printed book on Amazon KDP, upload the PDF, whose contents page has the real page numbers.
