BookyAI is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. This guide walks

you through downloading, installing, opening, and activating it.

===========================================

1. DOWNLOAD

===========================================

Download BookyAI from your members area:

>>> https://members.bookyai.net <<<

Log in and download the version for your operating system:

- Windows -> the Windows installer (.exe)

- macOS -> the macOS file (.zip) [works on BOTH Apple

Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs]

===========================================

2. INSTALL ON WINDOWS

===========================================

1. Double-click the downloaded "BookyAI-Setup-x.x.x.exe".

2. If Windows shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" message:

- Click "More info"

- Click "Run anyway"

3. Follow the installer, then click "Finish".

4. Launch BookyAI from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut.

Done.

===========================================

3. INSTALL ON macOS

===========================================

1. Double-click the downloaded .zip to unzip it - you will get

"BookyAI.app".

2. Drag "BookyAI.app" into your Applications folder.

===========================================

4. ACTIVATE YOUR LICENSE

===========================================

1. Open BookyAI.

2. Enter the license key you received after purchase

(format: BND-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).

3. Click "Activate". The app verifies your key online and unlocks

all features.

Your license is tied to your device. To move it to a new computer,

contact support.

===========================================

5. UPDATES

===========================================

- Windows: BookyAI updates AUTOMATICALLY. When a new version is

available, a "Relaunch to update" button appears at the bottom

of the sidebar - click it and the app updates itself.

- macOS: for now, a "Download update" button appears when a new

version is out; click it to get the latest version and install

it (same steps as section 3). Once notarization is live, macOS

will also update automatically, just like Windows.

You don't need to reinstall manually - just watch the update

button in the sidebar.

===========================================

6. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

===========================================

- Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit).

- macOS: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later - Apple Silicon or Intel.

- An internet connection (for license activation, AI generation,

and updates).

- Your own free AI API key (Google Gemini) or a local Ollama

setup, added in Settings.

===========================================

7. TROUBLESHOOTING

===========================================

macOS: "BookyAI is damaged and can't be opened"

-> Run the "xattr -cr" command in Section 3, Option A. If it

persists, also run the "codesign" command.

macOS: keychain prompt ("BookyAI wants to use Chromium Safe Storage")

-> Click "Always Allow" and enter your Mac login password. This

happens because the app isn't notarized yet and will stop

once it is.

Windows: "Windows protected your PC"

-> Click "More info" > "Run anyway". Standard message for apps

that aren't code-signed yet.

The app installs but the window doesn't appear

-> Make sure you have the latest version (the update fixes

this). Reinstall the newest build from your members area.
