I asked for a steamy romance but the AI only wrote kisses. How do I set how explicit my romance is?

Use the heat level. When creating a romance book, the Voice step of the New Book wizard shows a "Heat level" selector from 1 to 5:

1 Sweet (closed-door, nothing explicit),

2 Warm (kisses and tension, fade to black),

3 Steamy (on-page love scenes with sensual explicit detail),

4 Hot (frequent, fully explicit),

5 Scorching (highly explicit throughout).

For an existing book, set it in the book's workspace under Book details, then regenerate the chapters you want rewritten. The level is enforced while writing — at level 3 and above, the AI is explicitly told that kisses and the word "intimate" are not enough. One honest note: levels 4–5 also depend on your AI provider's own content policy. Cloud providers (Gemini, and models via OpenRouter) may refuse very explicit content; locally run Ollama models are the most permissive.
