How is the difficulty measured?
A simulated solver walks every maze the way a person does: it prefers ways that lead towards the finish, sometimes tries another, and turns back at dead ends. The cells it walks before it reaches the finish, averaged over many walks, are the maze's effort. The effort becomes the maze's stars, from one to five. The list also shows each maze's cells, the length of the way through and its dead ends.
