How do I put a scene break or a separator line in my chapter?

On its own line, type three asterisks (***), three dashes (---) or three underscores (___), with an empty line before and after. Every export renders it as a short centered rule between the scenes: PDF, EPUB, Kindle, HTML and, from version 1.9.8, Word as well. If you want the asterisks themselves to appear as text, escape them with backslashes: \*\*\*.
