How do I create characters that the AI actually respects while writing?

Open your book, click the "Codex" button above the chapter list, and use the Characters tab. Each character card has a short key (e.g. "john"), a full name, and structured fields: age, personality/typical mood, interests, strengths, fears, and free notes. Save, and from that moment every chapter the AI writes receives these cards as authoritative facts — characters keep their names, traits and history in every chapter and every regeneration. Bonus: the card's key doubles as a name variable — write {{f:john}} anywhere in your chapters and every export and audiobook narration replaces it with the full name, so renaming a character later is a single edit on the card.
