Can the AI overwrite my imported manuscript?

No. On imported books the "Regenerate" buttons are removed entirely, and the app refuses regeneration requests for them at a deeper level too. AI tools only touch your text when you explicitly ask (for example "Rewrite with AI" on a selected passage — and even then you can undo it).
