Can I generate a preface, introduction and other appendices for a manuscript I imported?

Yes. Open the imported book in its workspace and click Generate appendices in the Appendices card. BookyAI first prepares a short summary of each chapter (you will see "Preparing chapter summaries" in the progress bar), then writes the front and back matter based on your actual chapters. Any section you already imported, such as your own preface or introduction, is left untouched; only the missing sections are written. Each generated section can be edited or regenerated individually afterwards.
