After importing my DOCX into Kindle Create there are blank pages between chapters. Why?

This came from doubled page breaks and is fixed in version 1.9.10. Earlier exports ended every section with an empty page-break paragraph; Kindle Create then added its own break before the next chapter heading, and the two together made an empty page. Since 1.9.10 the page break belongs to the chapter heading itself and the file contains no loose page-break paragraphs. Full-page images still start on their own page and the text continues on a new page after them. Export again after updating and the blank pages are gone.
